DRUGS & ALCOHOL

Being drunk or high can cause you to do things you wouldn’t normally do.

If you are doing sexual things, being under the influence of drugs or alcohol can cause you to do sexual things you wouldn’t normally want to do. Mixing sex with drugs and alcohol can increase your risk of unintended pregnancy and STDs. This is because on alcohol or drugs, you’re not completely in control of your physical movement, so you might put the condom on wrong or forget to put it on at all.

KNOW YOUR BODY

If you choose to drink alcohol or use drugs, it’s important to be careful when under the influence. Drugs and alcohol can kill you if you consume too much. You can die if you overdose on many drugs, including alcohol.

SEX + DRUGS /ALCOHOL

If you have sex with someone who’s drunk or high, it could be considered rape, because they might not be sober enough to which is a crime. Mixing drugs (including alcohol) with sex is a bad idea because it can:

  • Make people have sex or do sexual things they wouldn’t want to do if they were sober. Drugs and alcohol affect consent.

  • Make you forget to have safe sex.

  • Make you use condoms and birth control wrong.

  • Make it harder to orgasm.

  • Make it difficult for guys to get and keep erections.

If you can’t tell whether your partner wants to have sex or not, STOP.

>>> GET TESTED <<<

Most of the time, STDs have no symptoms. Testing is the only way to know for sure if you have an STD.
So if you’ve had vaginal, anal, or oral sex, talk with a doctor or nurse about getting tested.
